Welcoming new Focusing trainers

This August in Gaza, Alaa Alhinawi and Yehia Awad were awarded certificates as qualified Focusing trainers. The ceremony for distribution was well attended by community figures, representatives from UNRWA, the local government and academic and professionals from some universities in Gaza.

The Focusing training took more than 10 years. It was delivered through visits to Gaza in 2010, 2012 and 2013 by Dr Mohamed Altawil, Leni Joha, Jerry Conway, Mary Jennings and René Veugelers. After that Dr Altawil continued training the core group team in PTC(UK) Gaza via Zoom.

Alaa and Yehia plan to continue using Focusing with traumatised children and adults in Gaza as well as to train other psychologists in PTC(UK) and other institutions in Palestine and the Arab world.
