An Introduction to Community-based Therapy
This form of therapy focuses on the group rather than the individual; on action and movement rather than talk and analysis. It is used to build resilience in people who live with conflict or social disruption. The activities develop trust and encourage play. This is known as “psycho-social” therapy and it is increasingly used in poorer parts of the world which do not have expensive medicines or psychotherapy.
David Harrold, Chair of trustees PTC(UK), has worked in Gaza on projects related to this. He will introduce some of these methods in a workshop at Blyburgate Hall, Beccles, Suffolk NB34 9TF on Saturday 2nd March at 5pm. At 7pm he will talk about the work of Palestine Trauma Centre (UK).

Launch event: Gaza on the inside, from the inside
Palestine Trauma Centre (UK) has teamed up with a group of educators and media specialists to produce an online exhibition designed to educate people about Gaza.
The exhibition was designed and curated before the horrific events of 7th October 2023, and while the nature of the launch event has been overshadowed by the trauma inflicted upon Gaza, the message of the event which intends to portray Gaza as a place of colour, culture and contrast still remains.
Please join us at 5pm GMT on Saturday 4th November 2023 at our launch event where you will be introduced to the exhibition and given the opportunity to explore the virtual gallery in your own time during the session.
In light of recent events PTC (UK) invites you to join us in solidarity with our friends in Gaza, to hear about the ever changing situation on the ground and how it impact our work, our staff and the people whom we help each and every day.
Please join us and learn how you can help their cause.

Talk to Gaza: Light in Gaza
“Talk to Gaza” returns with a webinar devoted to Palestinian thoughts about Gaza’s future.
Our webinar discussion will introduce the recently published Light in Gaza Writings Born of Fire, edited by Jehad Abusalim, Jennifer Bing, and Mike Merryman-Lotze.
Light in Gaza is a seminal, moving and wide-ranging anthology of Palestinian writers and artists. It constitutes a collective effort to organize and centre Palestinian voices in the ongoing struggle.
As political discourse shifts toward futurism as a means of reimagining a better way of living, beyond the violence and limitations of colonialism, Light in Gaza is an urgent and powerful intervention into an important political moment.
Jennifer Bing and some of the Palestinian contributors join our Zoom discussion on Saturday, 17th December 2022.
